UNESCO World Heritage Site – Lake District

Lake District, England’s largest and most phenomenal national park is now listed as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, and rightly so! It is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places I have ever visited and urge every one to visit.

Located within the county of Cumbria, it is home to England’s largest and deepest natural lake – Windermere – and the highest mountain, Scafell Pike, which makes it a must see area for nature enthusiasts. I recently visited Bowness-on-Windermere, a famous town near the banks of Windermere, and it made me fall in love with the place all over again.

You can take a cruise ride from Bowness-on-Windermere to enjoy the great views around the lake. We always book with Windermere-Lake Cruises, as they have plenty of cruise options available, so do have a look at their website.

Walking around the area and especially the Promenade, you just might get to see some gorgeous vintage cars being driven around.

And if the rain gods decide to send some rain your way, then you might get to witness the most breathtaking views, like the one below 💖

Lake district for me is the perfect get-away from the busy city life, which helps me rejuvenate. So, if you too want to experience the calmness and serenity UK has to offer then do visit the Lake District!

The Notting Hill Way

Notting Hill, is an area in London you don’t want to miss out on! Its home to the very famous portobello road market, a variety of vintage shops, cafés and restaurants. You may also come across an array of vibrant and colourful houses around this area, which make a great backdrop for that Instagram post 😉

Walking down portobello road, my friend & I came across a really beautiful café called the The Farm Girl Café. It was our first time there and surely not the last! From its food to its staff, everything was amazing. The food is healthy, tasty and scrumptious, and I especially loved their ‘Rose Latte’, its just too pretty to drink. So, if you happen to be around that area then do visit this lovely place.

Get Your Freak On!

The monstrous diabetes inviting milkshakes aka FREAKSHAKES have long been doing the rounds in London after someone somewhere down under in Australia curated them.

So, after giving a lot of thought about how many calories I would be in-taking  & how many hours I would have to spend in the gym burning them, I still decided to give them a try!

Maxwell’S Bar & Grill in Covent Garden, due to its central location suited me the best. Its easy to get to & easy to find. They do a variety of freakshake specials, ranging from – Mars chocolate bar mixed with Caramel to the best Oreo shake EVER!

Being an Oreo fan, I tried the Oreo freakshake but my friends went for the Mars one.

Needless to say, they were absolutely delicious and divine. But, it can take you a few hours to finish that huge jar or even half. (P.s. Be ready for a super sugar rush!)

Beach Please!

A rare sunny day in London calls for a beach day! But where do you go? Most of the beaches now days are either crammed with people or have poor water quality so, finding the right one can be a bit of a struggle.

Having been to various beaches around the world, I have finally found one, where you can actually just go and chill in peace. Shoebury East Beach, is perfect for a getaway from the busy city life and if you are keen on avoiding the usual crowds of the more popular beaches.

When in Rome (and around rome)..

Italy, a country with a rich heritage and culture, is bound to leave anyone wanting to travel there again and again. Every street has its own charm and history

So, the first place I decided to visit was The Vatican City. No, I didn’t get to see the Pope, though I would have loved too!

View for the top of St Peter's Basilica

The next stop was to see the very infamous Colosseum. The monument looks spectacular at night.

And then don’t forget to make a wish at the Trevi Fountain

And then how can you forget about the great Italian food. As every restaurant offers the same variety, it can be hard to find the traditional, authentic tasting food. But, luckily I found a little shop in the suburbs offering the most delicious gelato I had ever tasted. With a huge variety of flavours ❤

Gelato Family :p

The next day of the trip was to explore Tivoli, a not very heavily promoted city to visit when in Italy. But, that is the beauty of the place, there aren’t many tourists around, so you can explore the city in peace.
Things to see in Tivoli: Villa d’este – A UNESCO world heritage site & Villa Gregoriana – encompasses the the city’s ancient arcopolis.

Even though I had a short trip, it was an exhilarating experience, especially because I couldn’t understand Italian & many locals I came across didn’t understand English. But, I survived & you shall too 🙂
